  • 1940: Shoghi Effendi (pictured) leaves England for South Africa accompanied by Rúhíyyih Khánum and William Sutherland Maxwell, beginning a journey that would take them across Africa on their way back to Palestine.
  • 1994: The World Forestry Charter Gatherings, established by Richard St. Barbe Baker in 1945, are re-instituted by the Bahá'í International Community's Office of the Environment.

  • 1986: On the closing day of the Counsellors' Conference, the Universal House of Justice announces certain features of the Six Year Plan and the methods by which national goals were to be worked out in consultation between the Counsellors and National Spiritual Assemblies.
  • 2018: A court in Sana’a, Yemen issued an unprecedented ruling sentencing Yemeni Baha’i Hamed bin Haydara to death due to his religious beliefs, and calling for the dissolution of all Baha’i Spiritual Assemblies in the country.

  • 1992: The Local Spiritual Assembly of Zanzibar Island is formed, the first administrative body on the island since the revolution of 1964.
  • 2012: The publication of Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh in Korean is announced.

  • 1962: Fourteen imprisoned Bahá’ís in Morocco are arraigned before a regional court, being accused of rebellion and disorder, attacks on public security, constituting an association of criminals and attacks on religious faith.
  • 1975: The government of Uganda affirms that the practice of the Bahá’í Faith is not prohibited in the country.

  • 1853: Prisoners from Nayríz arrive in Shíráz, carrying the heads of Bábí martyrs. More Bábís are executed, and their heads are sent to Tihrán. The heads are later buried at Ábádih.

He also invites the Sharíf of Mecca to embrace His Revelation, but the Sharíf is too busy to respond.
