Central Figures

From Bahaipedia
Jump to:navigation, search

The term Central Figures in the Bahá’í Faith refers to The Báb, Bahá’u’lláh and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.[1] Collectively their written works may be referred to as ‘the Writings’ or ‘the Bahá’í Writings’, and their prayers as ‘Bahá’í prayers’. Shoghi Effendi associated the Central Figures with the Heroic Age of the Bahá’í Faith, a period that came to a close with the passing of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.[2] In a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi in 1951 he stated that it would be inappropriate to portray the Central Figures in dramatic works.[3]
