- March 19: Sixteen Bahá'í traders of the bazaar are arrested in Rasht; three others are brought from Láhíján.
- August: Bahá'u'lláh visits Haifa for three weeks. He stays in Bayt-i-Fanduq, a house in the German Templar colony.
