- First Pan-Malayan Teaching Conference takes place at the Happyland Hotel, Malacca.
- Hand of the Cause of God Collis Featherstone makes first visit to Malaya.
- T.K. Kannan of Malacca becomes the first home-front pioneer to the East Coast, Malaysia.
- Second Pan-Malayan Teaching Conference takes place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
- April: Mason Remey issues his claim to be second Guardian of the Bahá’í Faith despite previously having signed statements acknowledging that Shoghi Effendi had not appointed a successor, a requirement placed on the office by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.[1]
- May 10: The Hands of the Cause issue a letter stating Remey was no longer a Hand of the Cause and could not be reinstated unless he abandoned his claims.[2]
- July 26: After months of consultation the Hands of the Cause declare Remey a Covenant-breaker.[3]
- October 18 - 27: Fourth Conclave of the Hands of the Cause held in the Holy Land.[4]
