The 1960s decade refers to the years 1960 to 1969, inclusive, of the standard Gregorian calendar. The decade saw the transition between the Second and Third Epochs of the Formative Age of the Bahá’í Faith, marked by the culmination of the Ten Year Crusade in the first election of the Universal House of Justice at the First International Convention in 1963, coinciding with the centenary of the Declaration of Bahá’u’lláh in the Garden of Riḍván. The same event also marked the transition between the First and Second Epochs of the Divine Plan.
