- Sarah Farmer founds Green Acre, which later becomes a Bahá’í Summer School.
- February: Ibrahim George Kheiralla settles in Chicago, and begins teaching classes on the Faith. He incorporates many of his own mystical beliefs, equating them with Bahá’í scripture, and structures the class around keeping the 'Greatest Name' secret before revealing it to students once they complete all the classes.
- June 5: Thornton Chase becomes a Bahá’í after attending Kheiralla's classes in Chicago.
