• Bicentenary of the Birth of the Báb.
• January 18: Marking the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the Paris Peace Conference, the Universal House of Justice releases a message regarding world peace.
• January 25: The board of directors of the Baha’i International Development Organization holds its first meeting.
• February 6: The Call of the Divine Beloved, a collection of Bahá’u’lláh's mystical works, is published. It includes an authorized translation of the Rashḥ-i-'Amá, one of Bahá’u’lláh’s most renowned poetic works.
• February 22: New educational facilities at the Eric Manton Bahá'í Institute are dedicated in Mwinilunga, Zambia.
• February 28: The Universal House of Justice announces the publication of a compilation of extracts on prayer and devotional life.
• March 1: The Ngungu Center for Community Agriculture opens in Kabwe, Zambia, sponsored by the Bahá’í-inspired Inshindo Foundation.
• March 11: The Bahá'í International Community presents a statement, Creating the World Anew: Leaving No One Behind, at the 63rd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York City.
• March 17: The Bahá'í World News Service is made available in French and Spanish.
• March 23: Ground is broken for the construction of the first local Baha’i House of Worship in Africa, in Matunda Soy, Kenya.

In Iran

• February 7: In a report based on leaked digital files, Reporters Without Borders estimates that 5,760 members of the Bahá’í Faith have been charged (and some even executed) for 'membership of a sect' in Iran between 1979 and 2009.
• July 21: Twitter suspends the accounts of several Iranian news agencies due to "coordinated and targeted harassment" of people associated with the Bahá'í Faith.

In Yemen

• January 8: Imprisoned Bahá'í Hamed bin Haydara, a Bahá’í facing a death sentence in Yemen, appeared in court in Sana’a for an unexpected hearing.
• February 2: Hamed bin Haydara appears in a Sana’a court where he faces charges of "foreign espionage" and "abandonment of religion". The judge adjourns the session until March 12.
