2022 was a common year of the Gregorian calendar, the 2022nd year of the Common Era (CE), the 22nd year of the 21st century, and the 3rd year of the 2020s decade. 2022 corresponds to the years 178–179 of the Bahá'í Era (BE) according to the Badi calendar.

- Over the course of the year a series of Global Conferences are held by Bahá’í communities at the local level across the entire world at the direction of the Universal House of Justice to launch the Nine Year Plan.[1]
January[edit]
- January 4: The Conference of the Continental Boards of Counsellors, begun on December 30, 2021, concludes. A focus of consultations was endeavors by Bahá’í communities to facilitate educational programs to build capacity for community building and promote social action and participation in societal discourses.[2]
- The Centenary of the Bahá’í Faith in Tunisia is celebrated at a gathering organized by the Tunisian Bahá’í Office of External Affairs which was attended by journalists, academics, religious leaders, and civil society representatives.[3]
- The Bahá’í community of Malaysia provides aid to communities impacted by severe flooding across the country at the direction of the National Spiritual Assembly of Malaysia with Local Spiritual Assemblies collecting and distributing essential items including food, clothing, and cleaning materials.[4]

- The Bahá’í Office of Public Affairs for the United Kingdom launches the podcast series In Good Faith which aims to explore the role of media in society.[5]
- A panel discussion on developing urban centers featuring civil leaders, representatives of the Bahá’í Faith, and members of the public is held at the Chile House of Worship in Santiago.[6]
- The Bahá’í community of Tunisia participates in the preparation and publication of a National Pact for Coexistence alongside leaders of other religious groups in the country.[7]

- The New York Office of the Bahá’í International Community co-hosts a discussion forum titled A Future that Works: Consulting Across Generations to Build Prosperity during the Sixtieth session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development.[8]
- A series of Global Conferences begin to be held by Bahá’í communities across the world in order to facilitate the gathering of insights from experiences in Bahá’í community-building activities, social action initiatives, and contributions to prevalent discourses.[9]
- The New York Office of the Bahá’í International Community hosts a meeting dedicated to discussing how women can contribute to responding to climate change attended by representatives of member states, agencies of the United Nations, civil society representatives, and representatives of Bahá’í Offices of External Affairs.[10]

- The Bahá’í Chair for Studies in Development at Devi Ahilya University, Indore, India, hosts a series of webinars on the social and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable populations in India.[11]

- The Fiftieth Anniversary of the dedication of the Panama City House of Worship is commemorated.[12]
- The Twelfth Annual Conference of the Council of Religious Leaders in Israel is hosted at the Bahá’í World Centre and attended by leaders of various religious groups, the Israeli Minister of the Interior, the Mayor of Haifa, other government officials, and journalists.[13]
- The Bahá’í Office of Public Affairs of India hosts a symposium on the principle of the equality of men and women and how it relates to the concept of the family.[14]

- A representative of the Bahá’í Office of External Affairs of Tunisia is interviewed about the role of religion in society on a nationally broadcast television program.[15]
- Representatives of the Bahá’í Office of External Affairs of Azerbaijan participate in the first national conference held by the State Committee on Religious Associations.[16]

- July 31: Fifty-two Bahá’í owned homes and businesses are raided by government officials in Iran with thirteen Bahá’ís, including Mahvash Sabet and Fariba Kamalabadi being arrested on charges of propagating Bahá’í teachings and infiltrating educational environments.[17][18]
- The Geneva Office of the Bahá’í International Community hosts a panel discussion as part of the RightsCon summit.[19]
- The New York Office of the Bahá’í International Community raises concerns at an accelaration in the imprisonment of Bahá’ís in Iran with forty-four Bahá’ís being arrested throughout June.[20]

- August 2: The village of Roushankouh in Mazandaran, Iran, which has a large Bahá’í population, is sealed off by government authorities and earthmoving equipment is used to demolish several Bahá’í homes.[22]
- The Bahá’í World News Service launches a Russian language website.[23]
- The Addis Ababa Office of the Bahá’í International Community hosts a forum on the impact of climate change on women.[24]
- Representatives of the Bahá’í administrative institutions of Zambia and Bahá’í inspired organizations in the country gather for five days in Lusaka to consult on the relationship between the various Bahá’í educational intiatives in the country.[25]

- The Association for Bahá’í Studies holds its 46th Annual Conference virtually with over one thousand people from thirty countries participating.[26]
- The Bahá’í Office of External Affairs of the United Arab Emirates holds consultations with other groups on celebrating diversity and co-existence between cultural groups.[27]

- The Geneva Office of the Bahá’í International Community hosts a panel discussion on developing agricultural educational systems to support small scale farmers in rural areas at the headquarters of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, Italy.[32]
- A representative of the Bahá’í International Community delivers a statement on escalating persecution of Bahá’ís in Iran at a session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.[33]
- Bahá’í educational agencies in Zambia meet at a national gathering to reflect on the impact of Bahá’í educational programs on local communities in the country.[34]
