1916 was a leap year of the Gregorian calendar and a leap year of the Julian calendar, the 1916th year of the Common Era (CE), the 16th year of the 20th century, and the 7th year of the 1910s decade. As of the start of 1916, the Gregorian calendar was 13 days ahead of the Julian calendar, which remained in localized use until 1923. 1916 corresponds to the years 72–73 of the Bahá'í Era (BE) according to the Badi calendar.
