The First Seven Year Plan (1937-1944) was given by Shoghi Effendi to the National Spiritual Assembly of The United States and Canada. It was the first systematic teaching plan in the Bahá’í world and marked the first organized response of the American believers to the mandate given to them in ‘Abdu’l-Bahá's Divine Plan. As other National Spiritual Assemblies were formed and gained in strength, they developed active campaigns and were given similar plans, largely aimed at their own internal expansion.
