- 1829: Siyyid Káẓim-i-Rashtí, the successor of Shaykh Aḥmad-i-Aḥsá’í and leader of the Shaykhí movement, passes away in Karbalá. Designating no successor, he calls on his disciples to spread out in search of the Promised Qá’im.
