  • 1912: 'Abdul-Bahá gives an address at Coronation Hall in Montreal.
  • 1983: The National Spiritual Assembly of Iran sends an open letter to the Prosecutor General of the Islamic Revolution refuting the false charges made against the Bahá’ís and informing him of their willingness to obey the government. The National Spiritual Assembly is dissolved.

  • 1889: Haji Muhammad Rida Isfahani, a Bahá'í living in Ishqabad, is stabbed to death by a mob in the city's bazaar.
  • 1979: The House of the Báb in Shiraz, Iran (pictured) is destroyed by Revolutionary Guardsmen, and later razed by the government.
  • 1980: Seven innocent Bahá'ís are executed in Yazd.

  • 1846: The Báb is arrested in Shíráz at the house of His uncle, and is released on the condition that He leave the area.
  • 1893: First public mention of the Bahá’í Faith in the West. In a session of the World's Parliament of Religions in Chicago, the Reverend George A. Ford, a Syrian missionary, reads a paper talking about Bahá’u’lláh.
  • 1918: ‘Akká is liberated by British and Indian cavalry; ‘Abdu’l-Bahá is again freed.
