- The Bahá’í Publishing Trust of the United Kingdom participates in the Twelfth International Book Fair of Radical Black and Third World Books in London.[14]
- A Scripture Studies Colloquia is held at the Bahá’í National Center of the United States at which nine research papers on the Bahá’í writings are presented.[15]

- The Bahá’í community of Salt Lake City, Utah, holds a conference titled Color Me Human on the topic of raising the first generation free of prejudice with the Mayor of Salt Lake City declaring a Color Me Human week in relation to the conference.[33]
- The Bahá’í community of Vanuatu begins a collaboration with the Literacy Association of Vanuatu to undertake a three year literacy project with the Bahá’í community offering trainers and trainees to undertake work promoting literacy in the country.[34]

- A Primary Health Care Course to train people to serve as primary health workers in their local communities is held at the Bahá’í Teaching Institute in Bungoma, Kenya.[29]
- The Cook Islands Bahá’í community presents the statement The Prosperity of Humankind to several prominent figures with a television programme on the statement produced by the Bahá’ís also being broadcast.[39]
