- Agnes Alexander teaches the Bahá'í Faith in Alaska. She is the first person to do so.
- May 23: The first Nineteen Day Feast in the West is held in New York City at the request of Howard MacNutt who ‘Abdu’l-Bahá had encouraged to hold Feasts when MacNutt was on Pilgrimage in ‘Akká earlier in the year.

- Old and New, the first attempt at an American periodical for the Bahá'í Faith, published through the efforts of Nathan Ward Fitzgerald. It is discontinued after its first and only issue.
