- January/February: The Bahá’í cemetery of Yazd is destroyed and several Bahá’í businesses are burned to the ground.[1]
- January 4: Bahá’í Pilgrimage Website is launched.[2]
- January 12: The Bahá’í Office for Advancement of Women co-hosts a seminar with the All India Women's Conference at the information center of the New Delhi Temple.[3]
- January 17: It is announced that Ian Semple and Douglas Martin request permission to retire from the Universal House of Justice which is granted.[4]
- March 20: Paul Lample and Payman Mohajer are elected to serve on the Universal House of Justice in a by-election. Gustavo Correa and Stephen Hall are appointed to the International Teaching Centre in their place.[5][4]
- April 14: A site for a House of Worship is secured near Santiago in Chile.[4]
- April 20: The Bahá’í International Community's Office of Public Information launches bahai.org[6]
