Background[edit]

In his personal life Hall married Dicy and they have four children. In his career he was a teacher who worked in rural New South Wales and in 1986 he was appointed as a curriculum consultant with the New South Wales Department of Education serving for one year. In 1988 he became a school principal and he worked as a principal in various New South Wales schools until 1994.[1] As of 2000 Hall had been elected the secretary of the National Spiritual Assembly of Australia which was a full-time position of service,[2] and he was living in Sydney to serve in the role.[3] As of 2002 he had been elected the Chief Executive Officer of the National Spiritual Assembly.[4]

In 2003 the Universal House of Justice appointed Hall as a Continental Counselor for Australasia and he resigned from the National Spiritual Assembly to accept the appointment.[4] As of 2004 he was working as CEO of Childcare Services for the Gold Coast based company the Sunland Group,[5] although in 2005 he retired from the position as he was appointed to the International Teaching Center and relocated to the Holy Land.[1] In 2010 he was elected to the Universal House of Justice in a by-election held due to Hooper Dunbar and Peter Khan retiring from the body.[1]

In 2022 Hall requested permission to retire from the Universal House of Justice at the end of his term in 2023 with the Institution accepting his request.[6]
