Background[edit]

In his youth Correa studied mathematics as the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, completing an undergraduate degree and he then moved to the United States where he completed a Masters degree in Public Administration at Harvard. He then returned to Colombia where he was employed as a Professor of mathematics at the Universidad del Valle.[1]

Correa assisted Farzam Arbab in establishing the Bahá’í inspired non-governmental organization FUNDAEC in 1974,[2] and he was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Colombia in 1978. He served on the National Spiritual Assembly until 1988 when he was appointed as a Continental Counselor for the Americas and he was also appointed Director of FUNDAEC the same year. In 2005 Correa was appointed to the International Teaching Center and moved to the Holy Land to serve on the body. He was then elected to the Universal House of Justice in 2008 and served on the body until retiring in 2018.[1]
