Praveen Kumar Mallik is an Indian Bahá’í currently serving on the Universal House of Justice.
Background
Mallik was born and raised in a Hindu family in the state of Bihar of India where he completed his secondary education. In 1991 he moved to Varanasi to undertake tertiary studies and completed a Masters degree in Mass Communication and Journalism at the Banaras Hindu University then worked for several years in the fields of media and education. He married Arti Kumari in 2005 and they have two children.
Mallik accepted the Faith at a very young age and served as a member of the Local Spiritual Assembly of Varanasi and the Regional Bahá’í Council of Bihar, and later as an Auxiliary Board member until being appointed as a Continental Counsellor for Asia in 2006. He was appointed to the International Teaching Center in 2010 and elected to the Universal House of Justice in April 2018.[1]
