Dr. Payman Mohajer is a Persian Bahá’í currently serving on the Universal House of Justice.
Biography
Mohajer was born in Tehran, Iran, and completed his early schooling in Iran. He moved to India with his family at some point and completed a degree in homeopathic medicine in 1984. He established a medical clinic and practiced for several years and eventually completed a master's degree in psychology.[1]
In 1986 Mohajer was appointed as an Auxiliary Board member and served until being appointed as a Continental Counselor for Asia in 1991. In 1996 he founded the Foundation for the Advancement of Science which was a Bahá’í inspired educational institution. In 1998 he was appointed to the International Teaching Centre for a five year term, and he was reappointed for a second term in 2003.[1]
Mohajer was elected to the Universal House of Justice in 2005 in a by-election held when Ian Semple and Douglas Martin retired from the body.[1] He has been re-elected for five year terms on the Universal House of Justice in 2008, 2013,[2] and 2018.
