History[edit]

The Continental Boards were formed in 1968 for the purpose of performing the duties of the Hands of the Cause as new Hands could not be appointed.[1]

The Continental Board of Asia was formed in 1980, when the Continental Boards of Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Central Asia, and Western Asia were merged.[2] The Board met for the first time as a body with Hand of the Cause Paul Haney from January 2 to January 4, 1981, in New Delhi, India.[3]
