Dr. Manúchihr Salmánpúr (April 22, 1927 - April 26, 2006) was a Bahá’í who served as a National Spiritual Assembly member, Auxiliary Board member, and Continental Counsellor.
Background[edit]
As of 1958 Salmanpour was living in Kuwait and serving as an Auxiliary Board member for Asia.[1][2] As of 1963 he was serving on the National Assembly of Arabia and participated in the first election of the Universal House of Justice.[3]
Shortly after forming the Universal House of Justice ruled that individuals would have to choose between serving as a National Assembly or Auxiliary Board member from 1964 onward and Salmanpour continued serving on the National Assembly of Arabia up until 1968 when he was appointed as an inaugural Continental Counsellor for Western Asia.[4][5] In 1980 the Continental Boards in Asia were merged and five year terms were introduced and he was appointed to the body for one five year term.
In later years Salmanpour contributed papers to the `Irfán Colloquia.[6] He passed away in England in 2006.[7]
