Biography[edit]
Gulmuḥammadí was born into a Bahá’í family in Iran in 1927. He pioneered within Iran in 1946 to Rasht and married Amineh Panahi in 1948 who he had five children with. In 1948 he also pioneered to Kuwait.[1]
At some point Gulmuḥammadí pioneered to Bahrain from Kuwait and was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly of Bahrain. In 1957 he was elected as an inaugural member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Arabian Peninsula and he was also appointed to the Auxiliary Board for Asia at some point.[1]
In 1980 Gulmuḥammadí was appointed to the Continental Board of Counselors for Asia when the body was established,[2] and he was appointed for a second five year term in 1985.[3] While serving as Counselor he traveled extensively visiting Sakhalin, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Azerbaijan. He was re-elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of the Arabian Peninsula after completing his service as Counselor serving on the body until 2003.[1][4]
Gulmuḥammadí moved to England in later life and passed away in London in 2005.[1] The Universal House of Justice conveyed a message after his passing which praised his "sincerity, wisdom, loving nature, and enthusiasm" and noted his services to the establishment of the Bahá’í Faith in Azerbaijan.[4]
