Rose Ong is a Bahá’í who has served on the National Spiritual Assembly of Singapore and as an Auxiliary Board member and Continental Counselor.
Background[edit]
Ong's father, Yankee Leong, was the first person in Malaysia to become a Bahá’í and she also became a Bahá’í. As of 1972 she was living in Singapore and that year she was elected to the inaugural National Spiritual Assembly of Singapore as Chairman and her son Henry was also elected to the body.[1]
By 1979 Ong had been appointed as an Auxiliary Board member serving in Singapore,[2] and in 1985 she was appointed to the Continental Board of Counselors for Asia for a five year term.[3] She was appointed for a second term in 1990 completing her service on the body in 1995.[4][5]
