Jabbar Eidelkhani is a Baháʼí who has served as a Continental Counsellor for Asia.
Background[edit]
Eidelkhani was first appointed as a Counsellor for a five year term in 1990.[1] In July 1991 Prime Minister Begum Khadela Zia of Bangladesh presented him with the countries Young Scientist Award for 1990 at a ceremony in Dhaka in recognition of his work on Bengali language computers.[2] In 1999 the Rahmanian Foundation, a Bahá’í inspired social and economic development project in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, was founded and Eidelkhani eventually became its director.[3]
In 2001 Eidelkhani spoke at a Baháʼí Asian Continental Conference sharing that in Bangladesh 11,000 people had recently declared with 8,000 becoming tutors of the Institute Process.[4] In December 2011 he participated in a Conference for legal professionals held in Dhaka which was specifically for discussion of personal and family laws applicable within the Baháʼí Faith.[5] In July 2020 he spoke at an online International Conference on Education for Social Cohesion.[6] He completed his last five year term as Counsellor in 2020.
