Dr. Ilhan Sezgin is a Turkish Bahá’í who served as a Continental Counselor

Background[edit]

Sezgin was appointed to the Continental Board for Asia in 1985,[1] however in mid 1986 the Universal House of Justice transferred the responsibility for protecting and propagating the Faith in Turkey from the Board for Asia to the Board for Europe resulting in him becoming a Continental Counselor for Europe.[2]

Sezgin was reappointed for additional terms as Counselor in 1990, 1995, 2000, and 2005 completing his service as Counselor in 2010. He represented the Universal House of Justice at a major Regional Conference in Istanbul in 2009.[3]
