- 1940: Shoghi Effendi and Rúhíyyih Khánum leave for England via Menton and Marseilles after having obtained a visa for Britain in Rome. A few days later the Italians enter World War II against the Allies.[1]
- 1950: Khodadad Fozdar arrives in Singapore, the first pioneer to the country. His wife, Shirin Fozdar, joins him several months later.
- 1982: The Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Organizations of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the United States House of Representatives hears the testimony of six witnesses concerning the persecution of the Bahá’ís in Iran.
- 1997: The UN special representative for Human Rights lodged a complaint with the Iranian government over the persecution of the Bahá’ís.[2]
- 2011: Fariba Kamalabadi and Mahvash Sabet are transferred from appalling conditions at Qarchak Prison to Evin Prison in Tehran.
- 2023: Houthi militants raid a Bahá’í gathering in Sanaa, Yemen, arresting seventeen Bahá’ís.[3]

- 1882: Violet McKinley, English Bahá’í who was named a Knight of Bahá’u’lláh for pioneering to Cyprus.
- 1934: Franklin Kahn, early Navajo Bahá’í who served on the National Spiritual Assembly of the United States.
Deaths[edit]
- 1920: Albert H. Hall, member of the Bahá'í Temple Unity (1909-1918).
- 1942: ‘Abdu’l-Jalíl Bey Sa‘d. He is named a Hand of the Cause of God posthumously.
