Continental Board of Counsellors for the Americas

The Continental Board of Counsellors for the Americas is a body responsible for protection and propagation of the Bahá'í Faith, and appointment of Auxiliary Board members across North, Central and South America. Its membership is appointed for five year terms by the Universal House of Justice.
History[edit]
The Continental Boards were formed in 1968 for the purpose of performing the duties of the Hands of the Cause as new Hands could not be appointed.[1]
The Continental Board for the Americas was formed in 1980, when the independent Continental Boards of North America, Central America and South America were merged.[2]
