Garth A. Pollock (Oct 15, 1952 – May 24, 2018)[1][2] was a member of the Continental Boards of Counsellors for Africa and the Americas.
Originally from the United States of America he lived and served Bahá’í communities in many parts of the world. He lived in Bolivia for over seventeen years as a pioneer and later pioneered to Albania for five years before moving to Zambia. In Zambia he served in several capacities including as Executive Director of the Masetlha Foundation, a development agency of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Zambia, and of the Inshindo Foundation, a Bahá’í-inspired organisation that is overseeing the development of the Programme for Social Action in Zambia.
Garth was appointed to the Continental Board of Counselors for Africa in 1998 following the appointment of Firaydoun Javaheri to the International Teaching Center. He served on the body until 2010 when he returned to the United States, and he was subsequently appointed to the Continental Board of Counsellors for the Americas. He served the majority of his term, but retired from the body in 2014 for personal reasons.[3]
At the time of his passing in 2018 he was a resident of Indiana.
