Category:Content copied from Wikipedia

From Bahaipedia
Jump to:navigation, search
Information should not be copied verbatim from Wikipedia or any other source.
  1. The information exists already, duplicating it creates maintenance work without providing a service to users who could just visit the original source.
  2. Google when it detects duplicate content removes those URLs from its search engine, meaning the Bahaipedia article no longer appears anywhere in Google.
  3. Bahaipedia may have a different point of view. Copying content means creating a lot of work to rewrite the article to follow B:POV.
  4. Articles on Bahaipedia should allow readers to transition directly into the primary and secondary Bahá’í sources of information in preference to other sources, see B:GATEWAY and Bahaipedia:Article sources.
