Travel teaching
Travel teaching is the act of travelling to teach the Bahá’í Faith in areas far from one's home. It is distinguished from the related act of pioneering in that travel teaching generally does not involve taking up residence in the place where one teaches. A person who goes travel teaching is said to be a travel teacher or travelling teacher (or, less frequently, an itinerant teacher). By definition, travel teaching is a more flexible form of service than pioneering; travel teachers, being mobile and typically freer from the constraints imposed by the demands of daily life, can make contact with a wide variety of people in a short span of time, potentially meeting a great number of receptive souls.
