A Home visit is a personal visit to someone's home to share some aspect of the Bahá'í message. Those visited may be newly-enrolled Bahá'ís, or indeed any other person.

The practice of home visits is encouraged in the books of the Ruhi curriculum, specifically starting in books 1 and 2. In Book 1, the participants are encouraged to visit other people, and to study a prayer with them. In Book 2, the visits are about deepening on subjects such as the Nineteen Day Feast or the Fund. In Book 4, the "practice component" involves visiting others and telling the life story of the Báb.

In areas where this practice component of the courses is taken seriously, and carried out, the sequence of courses has more impact. It could be likened to a plant. Everyone focuses on what they see above ground, but for the plant to become robust and stable, it needs to develop roots. The home visits give the fresh plant roots, and by sharing the Faith with others, the roots are spreading sideways, giving the root system more strength.
