The Turks and Caicos Islands are a British Overseas Territory located in the Northern West Indies. The main island in the Territory is Grand Turk Island.
History[edit]
Opening the Turks and Caicos Islands to the Bahá'í Faith was a goal of the Nine Year Plan assigned to the National Spiritual Assembly of Jamaica.[2]
An early Bahá'í visit to the islands was made by Dan Conner, a Bahá'í youth from Chicago, Illinois, who made a two month teaching trip to Grand Turk Island in 1965. Joseph Atwood was the first local to become a Bahá'í in the islands[3] and a total of six locals converted during Conner's visit.[4]
