Papua New Guinea is an independent country, occupying the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and adjacent, smaller, islands. New Guinea is one of the largest islands in the world, and one of the most linguistically diverse. The other half of the island is termed "West Irian", and constitutes part of the Republic of Indonesia.
History[edit]
In the late 1930's an isolated Baháʼí, Mrs. Smith, was living in Port Moresby. Loulie Albee Mathews traveled to visit her but found she had already moved to Sydney, Australia.[2]
