WikiProject Biography is a coordinated effort to create and maintain quality articles on biographies of people connected with the Bahá'í Faith on Bahaipedia and related projects.
Scope[edit]
This WikiProject concerns itself with the creation and maintenance of Bahaipedia articles related to people, whether in modern or historical eras, with a special focus on important people related to the Bahá'í Faith. The articles with which this project deals should all be included in the Category:People or one of its subcategories. Per our guidelines on project scope, biographical articles should be restricted to:
- Members of institutions responsible for national or worldwide communities (ex.: Hands of the Cause, Counsellors, or members of the Universal House of Justice or National Spiritual Assemblies;
- Any historical figure who is notable for their relationship to the Faith (ex.: E. G. Browne, Wellesley Tudor Pole).
- Any Bahá’í in good standing who is notable for their contributions to scholarship (ex: Mírzá Abu’l-Faḍl, Moojan Momen, William Hatcher).
People who meet these criteria qualify for a standalone biographical article on Bahaipedia.
Authors and other creators[edit]
Because the number of authors, musicians, filmmakers and artists is potentially quite large, standalone articles on creators are generally not in the scope of Bahaipedia.
On the other hand, our sister project Bahai.works contains standalone articles listing the works of all authors whose works are featured on that project, and more in some cases. Thus, if an author does not qualify for a standalone biography on Bahaipedia, their works may still be listed with a short biographical summary at Bahai.works. In some cases, it may be appropriate to include brief biographical descriptions on Bahaipedia articles about individual works. These articles fall under the scope of WikiProject Works.
Goals[edit]
To create, expand, and maintain articles related to people. This will specifically include those articles contained within the Category:People. Another goal of this project will be to formulate and enforce policies relating to biographies of living people.
