Rachel Bayani

Rachel Bayani is a Bahá’í currently serving as the Principal Representative of the Bahá’í International Community to the United Nations.

Background[edit]

Bayani has completed a law degree at Sorbonne University in Paris and then a master's degree in international law at the University of Cambridge in England. In her professional career she has worked in international law working for the United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina up until securing a position as a justice and home affairs counselor to the Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the European Union in 2004. In the early 2010's she assisted with legal affairs of a United Nations peacekeeping mission to Cyprus.[1]

In 2013 Bayani began serving at the Brussels office of the Bahá’í International Community and ultimately became its Principal Reprsesentative, representing the body in dialogue with the European Union, the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and other civil society organizations.[1] In 2025 she was appointed as the Principal Representative of the Bahá’í International Community to the United Nations succeeding Bani Dugal.[2]
