The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the Windward Islands was a regional administrative body for several national Bahá’í communities in the West Indies.

History[edit]

The National Spiritual Assembly of the Windward Islands was formed in 1972. It was responsible for administrating the Faith in St. Lucia, St. Vincent, the Grenadines, Grenada, and Barbados.[1] In 1975 the name was changed to the National Spiritual Assembly of Barbados and the Windward Islands to facilitate the incorporation of the Assembly.

In 1981 Barbados formed an independent National Spiritual Assembly and the name was again changed to the National Spiritual Assembly of the Windward Islands. In 1983 Saint Lucia and Dominica formed independent National Spiritual Assemblies and a joint Assembly continued to administrate the Faith in Saint Vincent and Grenada until those countries established independent Assemblies in 1984.[2]
