The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of South Pacific Ocean was a regional administrative body responsible for the Bahá’í communities of several Pacific nations.
Formed[edit]
The first National Spiritual Assembly of the South Pacific Ocean was elected in April 1964 at a Convention held in Suva, Fiji.[1] Its seat was in Suva, and it administered the Faith in the Gilbert and Ellice Islands, Nauru, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and the Cook Islands.[2]
In 1965 the South Pacific Convention, at which the Assembly was elected, was held in Nuku'alofa, Tonga, for the first time.[3] The Assembly was disbanded and succeeded by Assemblies responsible for smaller areas in 1970.
