Dr. Wilma Ellis Kazemzadeh (née Ellis born 1929)[1] is a Bahá’í who has served on the National Spiritual Assembly of the United States of America.

Background[edit]

Dr. Ellis was born in Altamont, Illinois. Her marriage to Thomas J. Brady took place on September 10, 1967.[2]

Prior to first being elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of the U.S. in 1981 Ellis served as chair of the Local Spiritual Assembly of New York City and represented the National Assembly at the United Nations. She served on to the National Assembly until 1985 when she was appointed as a Continental Counsellor for the Americas for a five year term. In 1986 she was appointed as Administrator of the Bahá’í International Community's offices in New York and she visited the World Centre in the Holy Land at the beginning of her term of service.[3] She was reappointed as Counsellor in 1990 and 1995.

In her career she has served as Vice President for Development and Public Relations for Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.[4]

As of 2001 she had married Firuz Kazemzadeh,[5] and they remained married until his passing in 2017.[6]
