Iraq in Bahai history has influenced and been a part of it since early years of the faith, and even during the Bábí religion were it is first mentioned when Mullá Husayn-i-Bushru'i (1813 – 1849) was a student for nine years of Siyyid Kázim in karbala,Iraq. Then later befor Siyyid Kázim passed away then sutdents were sent to find the Promised one here is a quote form Shogi Effendi the Dawn breakers

"Our departed teacher insistently exhorted us to forsake our homes, to scatter far and wide, in quest of the promised Beloved... Regarding the features of the Promised One, he told us that He is of a pure lineage, is of illustrious descent, and of the seed of Fatimih. As to His age, He is more than twenty and less than thirty. He is endowed with innate knowledge. He is of medium height, abstains from smoking, and is free from bodily deficiency."

And then depurted to find the promised one.Mullá Husayn eventually found a young merchant from Shíráz, Persia, who at the age of twenty-four (in May 23, 1844) claimed to be the promised Qá'im (or Mahdi)and Mullá Husayn was enlightened by him and became a Bábí.Later the early Bahai including Bahá'u'lláh and his family, were exiled their in 1853 this is also were Bahá'u'lláh declared he was the promised one of God the "one whom god shall make manifest" in the Garden of Ridván near Baghdad.
