Ru’yá Ishráqí

Ru’yá Ishráqí

Ru’yá Ishráqí (1960 - June 18, 1983) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred.

Biography[edit]

Ishráqí was born in Shiraz in 1960 to ‘Ináyatu’lláh and ‘Izzat Ishráqí. After completing her schooling she enrolled to study Veterinary science at Shiraz University however after three years she was expelled from the University when all Bahá’í students were banned from studying due to their religion.[1]

On November 29, 1982, the Ishráqí family home was raided and Ishráqí was arrested alongside her parents. Her father was executed by hanging on June 16, 1983, and she and her mother were executed by hanging on June 18. Their bodies were not returned for burial.[1]
