‘Izzat Jánamí Ishráqí

‘Izzat Jánamí Ishráqí (March 2, 1926 - June 18, 1983) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Ishráqí was born in Najafabad in 1926. She completed High School and married ‘Ináyatu’lláh Ishráqí in 1947 with whom she had five children. After her husband retired the family settled in Shiraz.[1]

On November 29, 1982, the Ishráqí families home was raided and ‘Ináyatu’lláh and ‘Izzat were arrested alongside their daughter Ru’yá. ‘Ináyatu’lláh was executed by hanging on June 16, 1983, and ‘Izzat and Ru’yá were executed on June 18. Their bodies were not returned for burial.[1]
