The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of India and Burma was the body responsible for administrating the Bahá’í communities of India, Burma, and later Pakistan.

History[edit]

The Assembly was established in 1923.[1] In 1932 the Assembly was officially incorporated,[2] and issued an official declaration of trust and memorandum of association and adopted a set of by-laws.[3]

In 1948, when the country of Pakistan was formed, the Assembly became known as the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of India, Pakistan and Burma until Pakistan formed an independent Assembly in 1957.[1] Upon the establishment of an independent Spiritual Assembly in Burma in 1959, the National Assembly was succeeded by the present-day National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of India.
