Núru’lláh Akhtar-Khávarí

Núru’lláh Akhtar-Khávarí (1919 - September 8, 1980) was a Persian Bahá’í who pioneered to India where he served on the National Spiritual Assembly. He was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Akhtar-Khávarí was born in Maryamabad in the province of Yazd in 1919 and his family moved to Tehran after he completed his elementary schooling. In 1937 he married and moved to Nayriz with his wife and they later pioneered to Baluchistan and then India where Akhtar-Khávarí was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly. Shoghi Effendi later requested that he return to Iran and he settled in Yazd where he was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly.[1]
In July, 1980, Revolutionary guards raided Akhtar-Khávarí's home and arrested him and he was executed by firing squad on September 8, 1980, alongside six fellow Bahá’ís.[1]
