Mirza Muhammad ‘Ali Khan Mustawfi Tafrishi (1848 - 1916) was an early Persian Bahá’í who was a prominent member of the Tehran Bahá’í community.

Biography[edit]

Tafrishi was from Tafrish but moved to Tehran with his father, Mulla Hasan Pishnamaz, at some point. He began a career working for the government first as an accountant then as a steward to the Governor of Yazd Province. He married Shah Jahan Khanum, daughter of prominent Bahá’í Mirza Muhammad Husayn Munajjim-bashi, and they had a son ‘Azíz’u’lláh Mesbah.[1]

In the 1890's Tafrishi began working as a steward for ‘Abdu’l-Husayn Mirza Farmanfarma who served as Governor of Kirman from 1892 to 1896 and Governor of Fars from 1897 to 1899. His son also served Farmanfarma as a secretary. He passed away in 1916.[1]
