Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity

The Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity, abbreviated to ISGP, is an educational organization which also conducts and publishes research related to the advancement of civilization.[1] The Institute conducts seminars for University students and recent graduates in several countries as well as undertaking research initiatives which explore science and religion in practice.[2]

History[edit]

The Institute was established in 1999 as a non-governmental organization and an agency of the Bahá’í International Community.[3] Its first initiative was engaging in consultation with organizations and prominent figures in India which lead to a colloquium being held in New Delhi in 2000.[4]

Following the New Delhi colloquium a series of seminars were held across Uganda which lead to working groups being formed focused on education, economic activity, environmental resources, technology, and governance, and as a result a series of documents were produced and presented to the government of Uganda. A documentary video was produced in 2006 covering the activity in Uganda.[4]

In 2007 the Institute launched an initiative to hold seminars for university students and recent graduates to assist young people to develop capacity to make contributions in their professional and academic fields. Seminars are now held regularly by the Institute in India, Malaysia, China, Uganda, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Australia.[4]
