Husayn Rastigár-Námdár

General Husayn Rastigár-Námdár (1915 - August 5, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Rastigár-Námdár was born into a Bahá’í family in Navizak in 1915. His family moved to Tehran in 1924 where he completed his schooling and then enrolled in the Military Academy. He pursued a military career and achieved the rank of General in the Iranian Army in 1969.[1]
When the Iranian Revolution began in 1979 Rastigár-Námdár was dismissed from his position due to being a Bahá’í and denied his pension. He was arrested in his home on August 27, 1980, held at the central police station for two months, then transferred to Evin Prison. He was executed by firing squad on August 5, 1981.[2]
