Henry Tamashiro is a Vanuatuan Bahá’í who has served as a Continental Counselor for Australasia and as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of Vanuatu.

Background

Tamashiro is an active member of the Vanuatu Bahá’í community and in 2000 he was appointed as a Continental Counselor for Australasia by the Universal House of Justice. He was appointed to the body for multiple five year terms completing his service in the role in 2020.

After completing his service as Counselor Tamashiro was designated the representative of the Universal House of Justice to the dedication of the local Bahá’í House of Worship in Tanna, Vanuatu, in 2021. He was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Vanuatu at some point after his term as Counselor, attending the Thirteenth International Convention as a delegate of the Assembly in 2023.

In his professional career Tamashiro is a human resources and migration consultant and has worked as the Director of the Department of Immigration and Passport Services of Vanuatu and as the Departments Principal Passport Officer.

Currently Tamashiro serves as a director of Human Capacity Development International, a non-governmental organization focused on development projects and capacity building consultancy established in 2015. As a consultant he serves as the project lead and government liason for the Vanuatu Ministry of Internal Affairs review of Vanuatu's Citizenship-by-Investment scheme.
