Erica Toussaint is a former member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States, serving from 2000 to 2015.
She was born into a Bahá’í family to parents Erich Paul Reich and Barbara Ives Reich-Kochmann (née Obrig). She is descended from Howard Colby Ives through her mother, Barbara. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
Erica has served the Faith in various capacities, including pioneering to Grenada and the West Indies, serving as a member of the National Teaching Committee, and serving as an Auxiliary Board member for Propagation during the Three Year Plan. Following that, she was elected to the first Regional Bahá’í Council of the Western States, where she served as Chair until her election to the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States in 2000. She served on the National Assembly for fifteen years.
In 2016, she was elected to the Regional Bahá’í Council of the Northwestern States, serving as its Secretary until she requested to be released from service in 2023.
That same year, George Ronald published a book she co-authored with Earl Redman on her great-grandfather, titled A Day for Very Great Things – The Lives of Howard Colby Ives and Mabel Rice-Wray Ives.
