Arthur Norton

Arthur Norton

Arthur Norton was a British Bahá’í who served on the National Spiritual Assembly of the British Isles and was the first Bahá’í pioneer to Sheffield.

Background[edit]

Norton and his wife, Marion, were among the earliest Bahá’ís of Bradford declaring in the early 1930's.[1]

In 1938 Norton was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of the British Isles and he served on the body for seven and a half years. In the 1940's he and his wife pioneered to Sheffield and they were the first Bahá’ís in the city. In December 1946 Norton retired from the National Spiritual Assembly due to ill health.[1]
