Yousef Ghadimi (April 15, 1915 - c. 1980) was a Persian Bahá’í who served on the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran. He was abducted in the wake of the 1979 Revolution of Iran and is assumed to have been martyred.

Biography[edit]

Ghadimi was born into a Persian Bahá’í family in Ashgabat which is now in Turkmenistan in 1915. His family returned to Iran in 1930 where he completed his high school studies and he then received a scholarship to attend university in Paris, France, where he studied economics.[1]

After returning to Iran from France Ghadimi was employed as the Director of Foreign Exchange at the National Bank of Iran. He later started his own business and was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran.[1]

On August 21, 1980, Ghadimi was abducted at a National Spiritual Assembly meeting along with the majority of Assembly members and two Auxiliary Board members and he was never seen again.[1]
